30 for 30 Challenges: The Clothes

After doing laundry with this fine lady last night (during which time I left a bag of laundry and had to go back at 10:30 pm to retrieve it) I finalized the only clothes I will be wearing over the next 30 days with the exception of pajamas, underwear and the like!

Want to take a peek?

Pants
From left to right:  JCPenney's, American Eagle (one of the few places where the length of jeans actually fit me properly), Kohl's, JCPenney's, New York & Co.

Skirts
From left to right: thrifted, NY&C, thrifted, Forever 21

Cardigans
From left to right: Old Navy, NY&C, NY&C, NY&C, Old Navy, NY&C--can you see a pattern here?

Dresses
From left to right: H&M and NY&C

Leggings
From left: JcPenney's and Walmart (whomp whomp--it's my only article of clothing I have bought from Walmart and was part of this last minute Halloween costume)

Long sleeve shirts
From left to right: Forever 21, Forever 21, NY&C, unknown (gift from my mom), Forever 21

Camisoles
From left to right: Old Navy, Sidecca (store in Arcadia Mall), NY&C, Sidecca, Anthropologie, NY&C

I've noticed a few trends worth discussing.

One, I do the majority of my shopping at NY&C, Old Navy and Forever 21 and should probably buy stock in these companies.

Two, until this past weekend, I haven't bought dress pants since college when a Kohl's and JCPenney's were right down the street from my job, which made it easy to find dress pants when I needed them.

Three, I own a lot of cardigans--there were four or five that didn't make the cut!

Four, I own something from Walmart.  I had forgotten that this purchase had occurred.

Five, Woods enjoyed the photo shot just as much, if not more, than I did!

Day two, here I come!

Update: I am linking this to tickled.'s Did I Do That {Thursday} since I left a load of laundry at the laundry mat and didn't realize it for hours later!  Oops!

  2. I am so impressed you're doing this challenge! I don't know if I could handle it ... although have a limited # of items to choose from every morning might actually cut down on the number of clothes crisis' I have ;). Excited to see how you mix and match!

  3. Am I seeing right that you're only wearing one pair of jeans for a month? I mean, obviously you can wash them but oh man, I'd be super sick of them by the end! haha

  4. I love how your cat picked the BLACK ones to lie on! My orange tabbly does the exact same thing!

  5. I'm looking forward to seeing how you mix and match. I bet you'll find some wonderful new combinations, that you wouldn't have found otherwise.

  6. @ Ashly: He was a big "help" during this whole process.

@ Jenn: So far so good. I'm hoping that less options means less time trying to figure out what to wear too!

@ Every Little Thing: I have to wear business casual clothes to work Monday-Thursday so my pant choices were limited--I'm hoping I don't get sick of them by the end too :)

@ LesleyRH: He has a knack for things like that...there is a reason we bought a tan slipcover for our couch!

@ Victoria: Here's hoping! Thanks for stopping by :)

  7. I think I'd be scared to do this challenge...eeks! Love the photo of your kitty! My cats always get in the way of my cleaning ;) this post looks like a page in Lucky though, I must admit!

    Hope you'll stop by--and maybe even do your own Friday's Fancies tomorrow :) xoxo {av}

  8. I keep seeing this challenge around and love it. If I wasn't pregnant with a limited amount of maternity clothes, I would so do it too. Good luck!

  9. @ {av}: I love your Friday Fancies and definitely will participate in the future--knowing I can only wear the clothes pictured above and I'm not allowed to buy anything makes looking at other clothes difficult :) I bet by next Friday I'll be dying to put together a new outfit, even if it's just virtually!

@ Tanya: Thanks for stopping by my blog and congratulations on the little bambino! How exciting :)
