Weekend Teasers and Menu Monday

We had another busy but productive weekend around here--I'm beginning to wonder if there is any other kind!  I'll be posting a full recap post tomorrow but for now I thought I'd share a few teaser photos and our menu for the week.

First, the photos...

Saturday project
Our wares from the Farmer's Market
Lemon and garlic greens risotto

Now, the menu...

Monday: Leftover Sausage and Shrimp Gumbo with local andouille sausage courtesy of the Farmer's Market--recipe and photos to follow!
Fresh Blackberry Pie

Tuesday: French Onion Risotto with fresh salad greens from the Farmer's Market--if our original recipe works, we will be posting the photos and recipe as well!

Wednesday: Vegetable Fried Rice with Bacon--recipe and photos to follow!

Thursday: In honor of Cinco De Mayo, Steak Fajitas, Black Bean Salad and dos cervezas (beer)

What's on your menu this week?

  1. OH! Love me some gumbo, sooo good. And even better when it is left overs. Makes the taste really come out. But what is in those jars in that first photo??

  3. Yum! Where is your sausage from? Salume Beddu makes some amazing sausages, it looked like it might be theirs.

We're doing a Cinco de Mayo feast too (it's also Matt's bday!) - pork tacos with homemade salsa, guac, and beans!

  4. yum, that risotto looks delish!!! Whats on my menu? I don't know...maybe I should make one! LOL :) You inspire me to maybe do a bit of planning instead of on a wing and a prayer!

  6. @ Texa: I totally agree and boy do we have leftovers! If you were nearby, I'd say come over and have some :) The jars have flour, sugar, coconut, chocolate chips and other baking goodness in them--part of a reorganizing project I'll be sharing later this week!

@ Mallori: Thanks, you too! Hope things slow down enough for you to enjoy Cinco de Mayo this week :)

@ Every Little Thing: We got them from a new vendor at the Ferguson Farmer's Market called The Farmer's Larder. They have all sorts of smoked products including cheek bacon that we want to try next week!

@ Melody: Thanks! Meal planning has really made grocery shopping (and cooking) so much more pleasant...no more last minute trips to the grocery store midweek or temptations to go out all the time during the week! Now we can save that for the weekends ;)

@ Marissa: Thanks! I think I'm most excited about that meal too :)
